“My experience with this home has been nothing short of a disaster, and I strongly advise others to avoid making the same mistake. The lack of security is a major issue—my house was broken into and flooded. To make matters worse, there’s a massive stud poking out from the wall on the second floor, which was simply painted over rather than properly fixed. A friend of mine who purchased a home from DR Horton had his grading and yard drainage issues addressed immediately, but that was not the case here. The supposedly 'amazing' warranty turned out to be nearly useless, as it doesn’t cover critical issues like poor landscaping, which led to flooding in our side yard during the rainy season with no drainage to protect the foundation. Despite these issues being present when we moved in, we were constantly told they weren’t warrantable. BTW i have security cameras installed and i can literally prove i hardly ever walk on that side of the house. EVERY other part of the lawn in the back and front are fine and is maintained. But the water issue is so bad that my grass is dying and they wont cover it!!! I feel scammed, especially after signing a waiver that prevents the builder from correcting their mistakes. The company’s focus seems to be on building quickly with zero quality control, as the subcontractors clearly don’t care about the quality of their work. Our second-story carpet is missing padding in many areas, leading to popping sounds and dead spaces where there’s no support at all. I wouldn’t recommend this company or any of their homes—the warranty is terrible, and the construction quality is appalling. If you’re considering a new home, look elsewhere. The fact that DR Horton provides better warranties and customer service than Castle Rock speaks volumes.”

“From sales to construction to warranty claims this entire company is a disaster. I could never recommend anyone purchase from this builder. Sales intentionally mislead and lied to me on multiple occasions, there were an immeasurable amount of workmanship issues during construction (including the home being vandalized and intentionally flooded one week prior to close . . .), I was coerced into closing without all issues being resolved, and there continues to be issues 10 months after closing. Some of the issues that have occurred since closing include cabinetry, driveway repairs, electrical, fireplace, HVAC, and plumbing. They are extremely difficult to work with despite the immense amount of grace I have shown them by not sharing my experience publicly. There have been many people at Castlerock involved in my experience, but the only consistency I have seen is zero accountability. The final straw was the Division President for DFW, Greg Varney, attempting to dictate who would or would not be allowed in my home (after I had previously asked the same people to leave). This was the last occurrence of their condescending tone and entitlement I was able to tolerate. There are many options in builders out there, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.”
