“My last and FINAL experience here was just awful for both me and my dog. My ex-GF told me to come here when I moved back to Charlotte because she used to bring Riley here when he was a puppy. However, she also noted that the "good" doctor who used to run the show has since left. Anyway, when I arrived, a tech with an extremely negative attitude grabbed my dog's leash and started literally dragging him into the procedure room. Despite him being obviously nervous, she didn't even bother to try to offer him a treat, or even talk to him, just to help him relax. Just tried to drag him in. I quickly took back the leash. When I asked if I could go in to the procedure room with him, she initially looked puzzled and then eventually relented. Then another tech came in the room and immediately said I needed to muzzle my dog before drawing blood. Mind you, he's 11 years old and 13 lbs, a small mini schnauzer-shih tzu and has never had to be muzzled before for anything. He's never had an issue with shots or having blood drawn. Before relaxing him, and without even asking me how he prefers to be handled, the tech proceeded to grab him which of course he did not like at this point. I asked for a doctor to come in and for the techs to leave, and by this time he was quite frightened and riled up, certainly also reacting to my aggravation. While not a doctor, the tech head then came into the room and told me the negative tech was her best one, which is scary in itself. Eventually I just left and will not return to this horrible place. Very dissatisfied with the service and especially the bedside manner of the techs. My worst experience ever at a vet during his 11 years. Further, pretty sure this is the FIRST negative review I've ever left on Google or Yelp, so this will tell you how bad an experience it was for me. Further, the owner of the business LIED responding to my Yelp review saying I used name calling and abusive language. A total lie to try and discredit me as appearing hostile. When I was there, I did say that the techs were INCOMPETENT, which they were, so if that's abusive and name calling, so be it. Dr. Wheeler, you tell me what you would say if your dog was being cruelly manhandled? Just sit there and take it? Listen, I understand how hard it is to get good help in today's market, but you need to do better than this. I would highly discourage any prospective pet parent from bringing their precious animal here, especially if they tend to be on the nervous or anxious side. Or if you prefer they not be manhandled by incompetent techs with terrible attitudes!”
